About Me

Welcome, thank you for visiting.

For those who might not know me, I’m Oliver Jensen, a fictional Football Manager from Kristiansund, Norway. Yep, that name you see on Twitter and within the game is fictional; a persona created to use within the game.

I have been playing the series since the early Championship Manager days. I had a friend who lived very close to the school we used to go to, and from the age of about 15, we would rush over to his at any opportunity to play the game. This is where my obsession started.

I have been playing ever since, and have bought every version. Although some versions have more hours clocked than others: with Football Manager ’15 having just 11 hours on the clock.

I like to consider myself a tactical manager, however, this hasn’t always been the case. I have made all the mistakes most people make when starting out and building systems. Over the last couple of years, I have dedicated too many hours relearning the game and reprogramming my understanding of the inner workings of the tactics creator and Match Engine, from the various mentalities and shapes to the individual roles and duties.

My general tactical philosophy and framework centres around dominating the ball, using possession as a tool to control games and manipulate the opposition shape to our advantage.

I like to experiment and have written many articles on Football Manager tactics, which you can find in the links section. The aim of this site is to collect all my thoughts in one place, rather than having them scattered around the internet.

I try and keep active in the community. I produce custom kits when time permits, I help people with tactics and provide helpful tools and calculators, such as the star rating coach calculator and a tactical mentality calculator.

I hope you enjoy the site, and if you have any suggestions, please get in touch.

Oliver Jensen
