SeasonFive.EpisodeThree | Mercato d’hiver
As things stand things are exactly the same in the league as they were this time last season. We’ve played 2 more games then we had last year, but the positions are exactly the same.
The only difference is we have more belief this year that we can sustain our push for a very unlikely league title!
THE TRANSFER WINDOW
Again, nothing happened.
Youth player promotions
None. It has been a pretty non-existent window. I think I want to try to keep the stability that we have through the rest of the season and that’ll mean no one leaves and no one arrives. Let’s just hope it doesn’t bite us on the ass.
A great defensive month for us with just the one goal conceded against Lille.
Annoyingly, the goal conceded came in the final 10 minutes and only their second on target. Compared with the 25 that we’ve had it is a trend against the lower teams that we really need to end.
If you saw my complaints on twitter about this you will be familiar with my grievances about our inability to convert chances compared to the opposition who have some very favourable statistics.
Nevertheless, we are top of the league, despite drawing against smaller opposition all season. Just 3 points ahead of PSG so I’m under no illusion that this lead is lost as soon as we play them in a couple of weeks.
That being said, it’s another cracking season and I look forward to seeing where we end up.
Here’s to the rest of the season.
Returning this January, we take a look at the youth players playing in the first-team squad and profile how they’re doing for us.
Does it even count if we signed the player this window? Sure it does.
Duvnjak has been phenomenal since he has come in. He has slotted into the Halfback role as if he’s been playing for us for years. He is showing great maturity for a 20-year-old and has an average rating of 7.24 across all competitions.
Despite his deep position, he is my metronome. He has 4 goals and an assist and has completed 92% of his passes. I look forward to seeing how he does for the rest of the season.
That just about wraps things up. My next post will be covering the rest of the season!
