SeasonFive.EpisodeTwo | Matchs aller
In the words of Patrice Evra, I love this game!
September 2023 – December 2023
Here’s what has been going on at Roazhon Park over the last couple of months.
SEPTEMBER 2023
The month started off perfectly for us with two wins and 6 goals. Duvnjak has slotted into the team perfectly and it has allowed me to push Camavinga further up the pitch to be more of an influence closer to the goal. The only issue is that Pereira is outshining him in every match! Issue?
Against RB Leipzig we were 2-0 up at half time, so to throw that one away was a kick in the nuts. Strasbourg had just 1 shot on target and PSG scored, as they always do, in the 93rd minute. A lack of concentration for us and perhaps higher work rate for them saw them do what they do so often.
OCTOBER 2023
We gave Manchester United a good run for their money, but our winless streak in the Champions League continued.
The month was kind to us in the league, but less so in the Champions League. All three of Real Madrid’s goals came from corners, which really sucks because we matched them in open play!
NOVEMBER 2023
It took a late goal from Pereira to secure a point against Montpellier which was the only downside for us in the league as we continue our amazing form and position in Ligue 1.
Real Madrid defeated us with another corner goal making it 4 in 2 games against us. We did, however, finally pick up a win in the Champions League against RB Leipzig with Pereira scoring late on to secure the points and much-needed money!
DECEMBER 2023
Finally, an almost perfect month for us again in the league, but it was bottom placed Guingamp who took points off us after Andre Grey scored with their second shot of the match, yep, 2 shots and 2 goals to level a match that had us take 27 shots and 61% possession.
The Champions League ended dissapointingly. We finished bottom of the group, so missed out on the Europa League. Had we kept the lead against RB Leipzig in the opening match then we would be third, but it is what it is.
Back to the league and these lower teams continue to cause us issues. We’ve dropped our mentality from Attacking to Positive, but still, keep the system relatively the same.
I am perhaps thinking that I might tinker with this a little to get more out of Camavinga, who at the moment is playing as a supporting Mezzala. Perhaps a move to the CML slot might benefit him, since he’s left footed.
He has 4 goals and 2 assists in 17 matches, but I guess I expect a little more, considering he is our prized asset. When you compare this with 8 goals and 3 assists for Andreas Pereira, it doesn’t look as good.
The league is very tight again at the top. I expect many more twists and turns along the way. We keep throwing away silly points so if we continue to do that, that a second or third place finish is probably the more likely outcome.

I need to find a left-back as I only have one and he’s not that great these days. I have 6 players on the list and have given these to Sabino, so hopefully we can close at least one of these deals in January.
My next post will be a short one covering the January window.
