SeasonThree.EpisodeFour | Dernière ligne droite
We’ve come to the home stretch; dernière ligne droite. The third season comes to a close. The goal was some progress this season…
February 2022 – May 2022
Another relatively quiet transfer window behind us, with the exception of the Ênio transfer, and it was back to business on the field.
With the exception of the Metz match, with a late equaliser from Quintana making it an undefeated month.
Druijf continued his good form with another five goals.
Another great month, but our inability to finish off the small sides kicks us in the nuts again.
Another late equaliser by Schmitt this time against Nantes earned a valuable point, but the loss to Amiens was another example of this sides complacency when the opposition is of a lower standard. However, there can be no complaints.
The team is performing well, and with a well-performing team comes admirers for the players. About half the team are wanted about now. I’m dreading the summer.
From a distance, all those red dots don’t make for great reading. But when you consider the opposition was Monaco, Inter Milan, Lyon, and PSG you can forgive us for not such a great month.
Did I mention the cup final was against PSG, and did I mention that the goal was conceded in the 92nd minute, and did I mention who scored it?
So, out of the Europa League, a loss in the Coupe de France cup final, and conceding second place in the league.
What a month.
And the season is signed off.
I can’t really complain. The objective for us is always the top four. A cup would be nice, Raphinha coming back to score against us was a sucker punch! There’s always next season.
We finish with a point less than last season, so all in all, I’m very happy. We’re about to lose some key players this summer, so rebuilding will be key!
So that it. Another season down. This summer window is going to be huge as it looks like Camavinga and Palacios will be leaving us, but I have a few names lined up as replacements.
Thanks for following along with my save this year!
